Hi, I just installed a new (Latest) galaxy in my Macbook and I realized that it is not permanently deleting the files from my hard drive (even though it says it was deleted, or even when I purge a whole history, the size of my galaxy folder stays the same when it should be 120 GB less). I had to manually deleted files from the /database/files/ folder, but I would prefer not to have to do this every time I delete a file. Any one knows a solution?

just double checking: are you following the procedure described here: https://galaxyproject.org/admin/config/performance/purge-histories-and-datasets/ ?

You might need to change the '-d' flag to reduce the number of days used as a cut off.
