Question: How to permanently delete a dataset collection to recover account disc space (reduce quota usage)

Dear all,

Recently I have faced with a problem in permanently delete a dataset in GALAXY.

I need to delete it to increase my memory space that I need.

When I choose the "permanently delete", it asks me if I am sure to do this, but when I click Ok, nothing happends.

In addition in the deleted list of items I can only see "that collection has been deleted.

Can anybody guide me how to solve this problem?

A collection can have two types of content:

  1. Be a merged copy/clone of the input datasets. If this is the first collection created from inputs already in one of your histories, or from shared datasets in a public Data Library, it does not contain distinct content that counts towards your quota. To recover disc space, and the datasets are yours, try permanently deleting the datasets that were included in the collection - and these may be hidden if that option was used when building the collection. If the datasets are from a shared source such as a Data Library, deleting the collection is enough - the underlying datasets are not in your history/account counting toward your quota.

  2. Be the merged results of a batch job's datasets. These sub-datasets are hidden by default. Hidden datasets can be revealed in the history to gain access (use the link at the top of the history panel). From there, they can be permanently deleted just like other datasets to free up disc space.
