I can connect and transfer data to usegalaxy.org with Filezilla version 3.25.0 fine.

From the Filezilla release log, it appears that the beta for the release had some bugs. Maybe you need to update again?

Thanks a lot for your reply! I am using exactly this version, that is why I am suspecting I am doing something wrong, only I don't know what. I am entering Server: usegalaxy.org User name: ribarska.teodora@gmail.com Passwort: * (my galaxy login password) Port: 21

it shows me it tries to connect to 129.114.60.179:21... or 129.114.60.180:21... but then ti cannot, timeout or something..

Do you have an idea what could be the issue?

Pleas make sure you use FTP connection and not FTP(TLS) or SFTP.

Have you tried to set passive mode in settings?

I used "Filezilla" too some days ago with initial troubles similar to yours but after changing that parameter no more problems! It is also recommended on Galaxy website to switch on that parameter in case of any problem with active mode!

Worth a try! ;)
