Question: Download From Cloudman via FTP?

Hi

Is there any way to transfer files to FTP from Cloudman Galaxy for download onto my local server? I've been uploading via FTP just fine, but I'm producing quite a few BAM files and merged FastQ files, which are fairly large and would be easier to transfer by FTP rather than hitting the floppy disc icon for each file and and having Chrome DL them one at an excruciating time.

Sorry, there is currently no FTP download capability built into Galaxy (on Cloudman or otherwise).  You could try exporting entire histories as an archive for download (which you can then unpack and you'll have all the files locally), or you could maybe even script mass-downloading with bioblend.

Thank you. Is there any push to remedy this? I have ~150 BAM files I need to make and currently they take ~6hrs EACH to download. I'm not sure that's at all feasible, but I also don't see many [any] viable alternatives to Galaxy for my large RNASeq project.

Hi Dannon

Have there been any changes on this front? I still haven't found a way to reliably and [reasonably] quickly download 20-40GB of data at a time.

Could you go into a little more detail regarding your 'exporting entire histories to archive for download' idea? I've never been able to get the export/import links to work and I'm not sure how I would use that to download even if i had.
