Question: Cannot connect to usegalaxy.org (Error: "Site can't be reached")

When I'm trying to access usegalaxy.org it gives me an error message saying "site can't be reached" My internet connection is working fine. Is the galaxy server down, for some reason ? This has been for a while. I have noticed an increase in galaxy suddenly becoming unreachable, after the most reason file system maintenance you guys did. would greatly appreciate if this can be looked into soon.

This is a known issue at Galaxy Main (http://usegalaxy.org) and the team is working to resolve the problem. This may have impacted jobs as of late Weds resulting disc space errors and now is manifesting as temporary downtime of the site (two distinct problems). We'll have an update soon. Thanks for the reply Jen. Is there anyway that I can download some bigWig files that are in my history, possibly from a backend process ? Thanks! Hasitha.

Not at this time as the core server itself is problematic. Wait for the site to be back up before using. Jen

UPDATE: Main will be down for the day (this is an estimate).

New http://usegalaxy.org banner:

Galaxy is currently unavailable due to filesystem maintenance. It should be back by 8:00 PM EST (UTC -0500) today (Monday, November 28th).

Once removed, http://usegalaxy.org will be ready to use again. At that time, please rerun any prior failed jobs before submitting bug reports.

There are many ways to use Galaxy. Local and cloud instances and other public instances are suggested alternatives during this time: https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/BigPicture/Choices
