HI

I just installed a local version of Galaxy I have just tried to 'get data>upload file >chose local file>start'.  I can see the fastq.gz files I want on my disk they upload fine but just sit there in my history as grey (job waiting to run) fastq.gz files.

I was hoping that they would decompress and and go green like on the main server.  Have I failed to configure or activate the user  correctly?

Any suggestions would be very gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Guy

Hello reeves, you mentioned FTP in the question title and in the tag. Are you using it?

HI Martin

I think I did not have the FTP set up.

I needed to amend the following line in the config/galaxy.ini file

from

#ftp_upload_dir =

to

ftp_upload_dir = /home/galaxy/galaxy-dist/database/files

Now it all works fine

Thanks

Guy
