Hi, I just downloaded and started running a local instance of galaxy. I can upload single fastq files the normal way, but when I try to upload two or more, either as regular files or a collection of paired reads, at least 50% of them fail. Clicking on the failed file in the history (which is red), the drop down shows:

tool error An error occurred with this dataset: Conda dependency seemingly installed but failed to build job environment.

I'd be grateful for help as I can't find other posts which solve this, Thanks, Mike

We have seen this recently and the solution is in this post:

Reinstalling won't work for your case (the upload functions are part of the core build, not a tool sourced from the Tool Shed). However, rebuilding the conda environment should work.

I've asked for more feedback from the developers to make sure this is also best advice for your case. (Follow the discussion here:

It would help to know the Galaxy version/type you are using for your local. Also, to confirm, you are using FTP to load the larger datasets, correct? That needs to be configured on a local. Sharing details about the admin changes made to your local would also probably help if this needs more troubleshooting and is not related to the docker build source itself (others have reproduced this with the 17.09 docker release).
