I am getting this message when I log onto my Galaxy account: "You are over your disk quota. Tool execution is on hold until your disk usage drops below your allocated quota."

Under "User preferences" it says that I am using 293.5 GB of disk space and my quota is 250.0 GB - but I am only able to locate 79.2 GB (under saved history) of data in Galaxy.

I have 1 history, containing two files (paired end reads from RNAseq) for a total of 79.2 GB. I want to do a Trinity assembly on these two files, but it is not possible since I am "over my disk quota).

I have permanently deleted all other files on my account - but it still tells me that I am using 293.5 GB of data.

Any tips/tricks on how to locate the 214.3 GB and delete them?

I solved it!

For others with a similar problem, try this:

Saved histories --> Advanced search --> status: all --> permanently delete the data :-)

Hello,

I recalculated disk usage on your account and is it at 247.7 GB.

Check for deleted but not permanently deleted (purged) data in order to reduce account quota usage. This is how: https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/Learn/ManagingDatasets#Delete_vs_Delete_Permanently

Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team

Thank you, Jen! I am now down to 31% of disk space used :-)
