Dear Galaxy community,

I´m quite a newbie in Galaxy. I´m using the web based platform, what is called Galaxy Main if I understood it correctly. The question is very straightforward: can I add tools in Galaxy Main?

I downloaded a workflow and it requires tools that apparently I don´t have. It says "his workflow utilizes tools which are unavailable, and cannot be run. Enable the tools listed below".

Thanks!

Tommaso

Hi Bjoern,

thank you very much for the explanation and the suggestions! This is what I suspected but I wasn´t sure about it.

Cheers

Tommaso

Hello Tommaso, It would be very helpful for you accept Bjoern's reply if it addressed your question (you are the only one that can do this). I believe this one will be of interest to others (has come up before), you titled it so well, and this will help other new users discover the answer via 'Similar Questions/Posts" in the live forum search sidebars. Please know this is not for ego, but rather community resource building. Thank you! Jen, Galaxy team

Hi! Yes sorry I didn't know! I just did that! Oh I know it´s not for ego.

I´m actually very grateful to all the people developing these bioinfo tools which make the life easier for researchers like me who are overwhelmed by the amount of data that the modern technology can produce so fast! Thanks again!

Hi Tommaso,

this is not possible. Galaxy Main has it's own set of Tools that are maintained. You can have a look at other public Galaxy Servers or get your own up and running. A third possibility is to cooperate with some institute that has an own Galaxy Server.

Cheers,

Bjoern
