I’m desperately trying to install the latest (V1.1.0 from 23/07/2017) version of the HAMMOCK tool on my local Galaxy installation (under MacOS). However, the installation fails with missing dependencies for clustalomega, hmmer and hhsuite. Any help ???

Hello, What version of Galaxy are you running? If not 17.05, please try upgrading then reinstalling.

Let us know how that goes and we can troubleshoot from there.

Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team

Hello,

You could try installing these dependencies directly. The tool was recently updated but still uses packages. Packages are considered a deprecated method of installing dependencies but can still work.

But if doing that does not resolve the problems, you should contact the repository owner for advice. First, log in to the Tool Shed at http://usegalaxy.org/toolshed (create an account if needed). Next search for then click into the tool. The menu for "Repository Actions" in the upper right corner has an option for "contact author".

Hope that helps! Jen, Galaxy team

Hi Jen, I've already tried to deinstall/re-install the missing dependencies directly but without any success. Should I post the error messages ? Unfortunately, the contact author option is not available in the Repository Action menu.

Hi - I just checked and when logged into the Tool Shed, the option to contact the author is available. This graphic shows and explains how: https://imgur.com/JlX5hu4

The linked publication also includes a contact: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4681989/

Another option when troubleshooting tools from the wider community is to go linked source repos (this one has a github repository) and review content/readmes: https://github.com/hammock-dev/hammock.

There is a link on the readme for "tutorials/more info". This points to the team's webpage http://www.recamo.cz/en/software/hammock-cluster-peptides/. There is a "CONTACT" link to submit a question, which could be used, but the "TEAM" link also looks promising (maybe try the group's project manager listed under Project team?).
