Question: Is it possible to tune a standard Galaxy instance on the Amazon cloud or we have chosen a wrong version and should switch to the CloudMan or the Globus Genomics?

Please send us a galaxy.ini file from the working Galaxy instance on the Amazon (link for download). We need to look at the tuned configuration example.

And is it possible to extend CloudMan or Globus Genomics?

Hello,

You can add tools/data to Galaxy Cloudman the same way as you would for other Galaxy flavors (using Admin functions).

Cloudman itself can also be upgraded if a new ami is available.

For Globus integration with Galaxy in a cloud environment (GridFTP), please see this post: https://biostar.usegalaxy.org/p/25335/

For Galaxy on Amazon (not Cloudman), please see: https://galaxyproject.org/cloudman/building/

Sorry for the delayed answer, the status for some of this was in flux when first asked then I missed coming back to it. :/

Jen, Galaxy team
