Hello the ftp option for large file transfer disappeared from Get data/upload file. Does this mean that there is no more the possibility to use ftp transfer? Thanks
Hello,
FTP is still included. Look for the button named "Choose FTP file" at the bottom of the Upload tool's pop-up window.
Please explain more if this is not clear. Thanks! Jen, Galaxy team
thanks for your answer. For some odd reason this button is no more present at the bottom of the Upload tool's (only local file and paste/fetch). That's why I was asking the question to start with. best jp
Where are you using Galaxy? http://usegalaxy.org or elsewhere? Please be as specific as possible.
If running a local Galaxy, FTP is not enabled by default. It is on by default for a Cloudman Galaxy.
Just in case needed - how to admin configure FTP for a local Galaxy in included in this link. A database migration, done first before anyone using the server for analysis, is highly recommended. https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/Admin/Config/Performance/ProductionServer
I am using the main galaxy portail (https://usegalaxy.org/). Sorry for not being more specific, it's just that being on main galaxy I did not think it was necessary to mention.
It is ok, may also post here about local and cloud Galaxy servers, so it is good to check.
I see the button on the tool form. Do you also now? Just want to confirm all is OK now for you.
One important point - make sure you are logged into your account for this functionality to be available (for technical reasons linked to data transfer privacy/required FTP credentials).
Sorry my mistake, I was not logged in Thanks jp
Great, glad that worked! Jen
Update: Moving data from the FTP transfer area into a history is currently starting long-waiting jobs (that should normally go quick). This is related to other current issues.
