Hi all,

I`m trying to upload a 9.5Gb fastq.gz file using filezilla. Everything works nicely up to roughly 90% when the transfer stops and won`t resume anymore.

Error:    Connection closed by server
Error:    File transfer failed after transferring 7.8 GB in 900 seconds

I uploaded the file to another ftp-server without any problems. So I concluded that it is not a filezilla configuration problem nor the firewall/connection. Any solutions?

Best,

Hans

Hello,

The "resume transfer" function in Filezilla is not working? Even after logging back into Galaxy first?

What is the size of the data uncompressed? If at or over 50 GB, you may be hitting the upload file size limit. If under 50 GB, try loading the data uncompressed. There could be a gz compression incompatibility.

All of this assumes that you are working at http://usegalaxy.org. If working at another public Galaxy, some of this like likely still true, but those administrators will know the particulars. Contact information is generally on the home page of the server or you can look here: PublicGalaxyServers

Let us know how this works, Jen, Galaxy team

Hi Jen,

no chance to upload the file to usegalaxy.org. Also the uncompressed file (29GB) wouldn`t work. Same goes for the resume transfer function in Filezilla.

Regards,

Hans
