Hi there,

I'm using galaxy.org and trying to convert two of my datasets from fastqsanger to fasta in order to run them through HISAT. When I try to do this I get the following error message:

This dataset is currently being used as input or output. You cannot change datatype until the jobs have completed or you have canceled them.

This is not the case as far as I can see, no other jobs or workflows on any of my undeleted histories are running? Could this be a server issue?

Best Wishes

Hello,

This is at http://usegalaxy.org? It might be a server issue. To troubleshoot, try resetting the metadata on the input datasets and then using them. Do this by clicking on the pencil icon within the dataset box and then when the Edit Attributes forms appear in the middle panel, click on the "autodetect" button. Allow that to complete and re-run the conversion.

If that is problematic, then something went wrong with the jobs that created those files. You could rerun them (and might need to, in rare cases that is the solution). But check first with the metadata reset. If problems continue, create a share link to the history and email that along with a link to this post to galaxy-bugs@lists.galaxyproject.org. List the problem datasets by number and make sure that everything is undeleted.
