Hi,

I have been trying to upload my fastq.gz RNA-seq files (~3.5 Gb ) on the Galaxy main FTP server since yesterday. But the upload always failed. I receive the following messages:

"An error occured copying a file to the FTP server. Make sure you have permission to put files on the server. Details: The connection with the server was reset"

and another message for the a copy process following the previous one:

"An error occured copying a file to the FTP server. Make sure you have permission to put files on the server. Details: 200 Type set to I. 227 Entering passive mode (129,114, 60, 179, 163, 94). 150 Opening binary mode data connection for the file. 452 Transfer aborted. Nospace left on device."

I would be thankful for any help.

Best, P

some more updates on the problem:

  • Finally, it took me two days and several tries to upload two files (3.4Gb each) to the ftp server. However, upload to the ftp server still fails when I try uploading new files. Until last Friday (11.03.2016), I had no problems in uploading files to the ftp server.
  • Also, upload from the ftp server to my history is not working.
  • Runs failed on the Galaxy main server when output files to be generated were large sized (for e.g when I executed Trim galore on my data).

I have been facing this problem since Saturday morning. Everything worked fine until Friday. I can see that I have enough free space on the server, so space should not be an issue. Is the server undergoing maintenance?

I would be thankful for any update on the problem.

Hello,

The recent tool failures due to the cluster issues are now cleared. Please re-run the failed job(s) and let us know if problems persist via a new bug report from the latest failure (from today). We can help to diagnose the issue and get it resolved.

Thank you all again for your patience while we worked on the solution, Jen, Galaxy team

I'm getting a no space error as well, but not a permission/connection error.

I was able to make successful transfers between these two machines on Friday.
