Hello, I'm trying to start an instance of galaxy in the cloud (AMAZON) I'm following the screencast but when I copy the AMI name form the wiki site [cid:8F29F430-A843-4C52-8A1B-3DACF9E074A5] And paste in the Community AMIs search box , it does not work. Can you please tell me which is the lastest AMI name? Thank you Alejandro [cid:4C28C476-6FFD-45DD-9B06-795A2C46266C] Dr. Alejandro Colaneri Departments of Biology University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill 310 Coker Hall, CB# 3280 120 South Road Chapel Hill, NC 27599-3280 Tel: 919-962-2273 fax: 919- 962-1625

Hi Dannon It does show up. I you see at my screen capture you can see the name (highlighted in blue) that is associated to the ami-da58aab3. However it does not look to be the latest version of the ami name. At least it does not work when I copy and paste in the searching box for all AMI images. Then I tried to follow the link that you provide in this email but unfortunately did not accept my AWS credentials. Also notice that the provided AMI name is dated march 2013, it is that ok? Is really the latest? That said, the easiest way to launch a galaxy cloud cluster if you're not already familiar with EC2 is probably using usegalaxy.org/cloudlaunch<http: usegalaxy.org="" cloudlaunch="">. This interface will guide you through the launch process without any extra input on your part other than providing your AWS keys. -Dannon Hello, I'm trying to start an instance of galaxy in the cloud (AMAZON) I'm following the screencast but when I copy the AMI name form the wiki site [cid:8F29F430-A843-4C52-8A1B-3DACF9E074A5] And paste in the Community AMIs search box , it does not work. The wiki is correct, ami-da58aab3 is the current recommended and supported AMI. The AMI is only really the base system needed for bootstrapping up a cluster, and the other components have been updated much more recently -- the core operating system needed doesn't change often. There may, from time to time, be other 'galaxy' machine images if you search, but unless they're listed on the wiki they are not recommended for use. And, what happened when you attempted to use cloudlaunch? If you have valid credentials, it should work. On Tue, Jun 4, 2013 at 8:01 AM, Colaneri, Alejandro Cesar <
