Question: can I ftp immediately after sign up

Hi,

i just signed up and want to ftp some files to the server. i am trying to connect to ftp://usegalaxy.org with my email address as username and my galaxy password.

I just wondered if this is supposed to work immediately after signing up, or do I need to wait a day for the credentials to be transferred? i could trouble shoot this the rest of the day, or spend my time on something else.

my client (filezilla) does connect, but then times out after 20 seconds as it is waiting for a welcome message.

Thanks! It seems 20 seconds until timeout was to quick. With 30 seconds I could connect.

It is supposed to work immediately. Try enabling passive mode in your FTP client. The FTP server is up and running.
