I uploaded files to galaxy ftp and then tried to upload to galaxy. Jobs have been waiting for ever, I wonder what could be the issue. I tried to upload files directly from my computer, the same thing happened. Our school has some encryption policy, I wonder if that could be the reason and what should I do then?

Hello,

Is this still a problem now?

Are you working at http://usegalaxy.org or elsewhere?

If not completed yet, did the jobs actually queue (grey box in the history panel)? Once queued, if both the data source (a successfully loaded FTP file) and the server usegalaxy.org) are external, then your network should no longer be a factor. A problem, if any, would have come up during the FTP stage.

Let us know and we can try to help more, Jen, Galaxy team

yes there are grey boxes waiting to stat, but nothing happened. I think I am going to try from home today. If that works then that proves it was my school and I will contact our IT person to see if we are required to use our school galaxy build.

We are double checking your jobs and will reply with more details shortly. If you are working at http://usegalaxy.org, and FTP was already successful, then where you are accessing Galaxy from when using the Upload tool to move the data into a history should not make a difference in how the job executes.

Thanks for your patiance, Jen

Hello,

Please activate your account and try the upload again (starting over with the FTP transfers).

An activation link was sent to you when the account was created. Accounts stay temporarily active for 6 hours, then are on hold until this is done. Be sure to check spam/trash if the email did not arrive directly to your inbox.

Please let us know if you continue to have problems after that. Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team
