I am trying to upload an excel file, but I keep getting this message after the upload completes, with none of my data showing up: ZIP file contained more than one file, only the first file was added to Galaxy.

The file is nowhere near the 2GB limit, and it's just a regular excel file - definitely NOT zipped. I tried uploading as .xls and as .tabular. I also tried just copy pasting it in, but it seems that it's too big a file for that.

Any idea what's going on?

Definitely sounds like a bug.  I'm assuming you're trying this on the main galaxy server?  And, you get the same error uploading it as tabular data?

Looking at my file again, I think the problem was actually on my end. I saved it as .tabular, but it was still in excel format somehow. Anyway, was able to copy it all into a new file and upload as .txt. So, problem solved. Thanks for the reply, though!

Right, it'd definitely have to be a text-based format -- Galaxy doesn't support native xls.  The response that it got detected as a zip doesn't seem quite right, but I'll look into that later.  In any event, glad you sorted it out!
