Hi,

I have been trying to upload a file (29.5G) through ftp. When click "choose FTP file", I can see my file listed in FTP file. I chose the file by adding a check mark in front of the file name, then I clicked "start". But I don't know why it won't upload the file?

Thanks

PS: I used FileZilla to transfer file again (before I was using WinSCP), and it still won't upload.

Hi Ren,

It looks like no jobs were ever created, meaning that most likely, Galaxy did not receive the request to attempt to import the uploaded file from your FTP directory. Could you let us know what browser (and its version) you are using? Additionally:

  • If you are familiar with the browser's developer tools, it would also be helpful if you opened the console and took note of any errors that occur when you attempt to initiate the upload.
  • If you have other browsers available, please try them.

Hi,

The browser that i was using was IE(version10). But now, I am able to upload files after I changed the browser to Firefox.

Thank you very much for your help!

Ren

Hello,

If the data has already been successfully loaded by FTP (confirmed within Filezilla, by default this is reported in the lower panel) but then is stalling at the stage where it is moved from the FTP staging area into a history (using the upload tool), it could be that your account is full. Click on User -> Preferences to see how much of the quota is still available and if the data will fit. Permanently delete older data to make room if needed.

If this is not the issue, then please submit a bug report from the failed data load. Or, let us know if the job is not initiating at all (this cannot be reproduced in simple testing, but we can check your specific account for some problem).

Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team

Hi Jen,

I checked the Preferences, it shows that I am using 0 bytes of disk space. I have not been able to upload anything since I tried using Galaxy.

All my job is not initiating at all. I tried to upload a reference fasta file which is 80 Mb from local file, but It won't initiate  the job too.

Can you please help checking my account at some point?

Thank you very much,

Ren

Hi Ren,

Thanks for explaining. All seems fine with your account (it is activated), but we will check with our administrator to make sure that there is not some other problem. Data uploads are fine from basic testing across accounts.

Thanks and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Jen
