I installed a local Galaxy in Ubuntu14.04, it can visit by website 127.0.0.1:8080, then I add a tool "meme" from the tool shed. The tool look good for work, but when I put in my data(.fas) into it and run,it send a mistake to me like this: /home/lxy/software/galaxy/database/job_working_directory/000/12/galaxy_12.sh: 21: /home/lxy/software/galaxy/database/job_working_directory/000/12/galaxy_12.sh: meme: not found Error running MEME. mv: cannot stat ‘/home/lxy/software/galaxy/database/job_wo I have test for small dataset and error yet. I wander if local galaxy can visit the internet? So I ask for help. Thank you very much for everyone answer this question.
Hello,
The instance does not need to be public in order to install and run tools. Confirm that the instance was set up as described at http://getgalaxy.org, updated to Galaxy version 15.07, and that samtools is installed from the Tool Shed.
For testing: Do other tools function? Or is just this one problematic? The tool you specify was last updated in 2012 and Galaxy has changed a great deal since then. The tool author could be contacted to find out of it is still supported (log into the tool shed, go to the tool, then use the upper right menu for a form to write them directly). All tools in the Tool Shed are owned by the authors.
Hopefully this helps to resolve the issue, even if that means using a different tool. Jen, Galaxy team
Hello,
Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate your detailed answer.
I am a new learner for using local galaxy, I will install another tool to test if it works.
Thank you again.
