Question: Is data uploaded you my galaxy account privately secured if I upload it via FTP?

A slight correction here - although data in your histories can only be easily found by anyone who has the link, there is not anything preventing anyone who is able to find your data from accessing it. To prevent this, Galaxy provides the ability to manage dataset permissions, both on current datasets and the default permissions on new datasets. You can find more information here:
