Hi,

Over the past couple of days, I've been having trouble accessing my current histories in the galaxy GUI. I'm fairly certain I have no jobs waiting to run, and my data usage is only at 38%. But, whenever I attempt to switch between histories, I'm unable to access any of my data. Eventually the current history will show its contents but this takes hours, and nothing else will load. I can't even access any data sets from the user drop down menu, even though all currently active sets are listed. I've never had trouble using different histories for individual replicate analysis before. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this?

Thanks!

Hello, Are you working on the pubilc Main Galaxy at http://usegalaxy.org or another server? Are you using the exact same internet? This will help us to advise you. Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team

I'm on the public server, and the internet connection is the same--It's being provided by the institute and hasn't had any outages during my data analysis trouble.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

Hi, Kate

You've got two dataset collections in your history that are unfortunately of a type the UI can't handle well at this point (list:list). Sorry that this caused any problems.

We may be able to edit that history so that it won't have those collections - or move the non-list:list contents to a new history. This would mean removing those collections from the database, however. Is that a fix you'd be alright with?

Hi--That's fine with me. At this point I just need to be able to access my outputs so I can at least back them up. I'll deal with the reorganization later if you can just get me back up and running. Thanks!

Hi again, Kate

I've copied the non-list:list history contents from one of the problematic histories into a new history for you. I've named the new history "Copy of '<old name>'" where <old name> is the name of the original history. You should be able to switch to the copy and download the datasets or simply keep working if you'd prefer. Note that I did not copy any deleted datasets to the new history.

Is there only the one problematic history or more? Will the new history work for what you need?

Let me know if you have any more issues.
