Hi, Can galaxy combine lots of data into a single file using "cat"? I have a 2GB sam type data, but I can't upload it by URL under my condition, so I want to spilt it into three files and upload it to galaxy and then combine it? Thanks a lot!weimin zhao

Hello Weimin, Instead of splitting up the file, using FTP with a desktop client would be a simpler solution. Please see: http://galaxyproject.org/wiki/Support#Trouble_loading_data If you do decide to split and merge anyway, Kevin pointed out the correct tool for the merge: "Concatenate datasets". Text Manipulation <http: main.g2.bx.psu.edu="" root="" tool_menu#=""> -> Concatenate datasets <http: main.g2.bx.psu.edu="" tool_runner?tool_id="cat1"> tail-to- head is the equivalent of cat :) btw galaxy also accepts gzipped files so you can upload it faster that way Cheers Kevin On 18 November 2011 16:40, dongdong zhaoweiming <
