Hi, my data history disappeared when I signed in after logging out for browser software update. It is now displaying some really old data that I have deleted and purged in the past. Oddly, the % data used bar is the same. Tried logging out and signing in again but not helping. Please advise.

Thanks,

Victor

Hello,

Logging out/in of a Public Galaxy server wouldn't impact the data content of your registered account. That action may recalculate quota size but it depends on the Galaxy server. Galaxy Main https://usegalaxy.org does have this function enabled.

At Galaxy Main, I see three active histories, one from today last used about 3 hours ago and two last used much earlier (Jan 2018 & July 2017). There are two deleted histories that were worked in a bit earlier today (maybe those are the ones you are looking for?) and several permanently deleted (purged) histories.

In the deleted state, a history can be undeleted (made active again -- does not impact quota usage, both active + deleted count) or permanently deleted (will be no longer usable/recoverable -- but that will reduce your quota usage). All of your account's histories (active, deleted, purged) can be found under "Saved Histories". The option is under in both the History and User pull-down menus. Use the advanced search at the top of the listing and choose "status == all".

I also just recalculated your account quota at Galaxy Main and it seems fine. It was last logged into about 3 hours ago and is nearly full (approaching the 250 GB quota).

If none of that works out, double check that you are logging into the same Galaxy server as before. Accounts at different Galaxy servers contain unique data content. It is not automatically populated across servers, although you can share and import dataset/histories/workflows between servers.
