I am a new galaxy user and have been trying to put together a transcriptome, and it has been running for almost a month. It is currently at 37% complete. I wanted to check with someone to see if this is a standard running time, and if this might have to do with space on my galaxy account. Thank you for your assistance, and I hope to hear from you soon.
Hello,
I see one executing Trinity job that was started a few days ago at Galaxy Main https://usegalaxy.org. A few days is a normal time frame if the job was queued for while and is executing now. I would wait for it to finish. https://galaxyproject.org/support/how-jobs-execute/
The inputs are fairly large (80 GB each). If the job errors, it will probably be due to the job running out of memory at the cluster it is running on. Using smaller datasets or your own Galaxy (with sufficient memory allocated) would be the way forward. https://galaxyproject.org/choices/#which-option-to-choose
Should you be working at a different Galaxy server for the job that has been much running longer (a month?) I would suggest checking with the administrators of that server directly to find out what is going on.
Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team
