Question: mutspec install error due to perl 5.18.1 install issue

I am in the process of downloading mutspec and its dependencies.

I dependency packages_perl_5_18 has installed, but in mutspec this error appears beside the perl dependency:

"The installation directory for this tool dependency had contents but the database had no record. The installation log may show this tool dependency to be correctly installed, but due to the missing database record it is now being set to Error."

has anybody else experienced an error with the perl 5.18.1 package and whocks how to solve it?

This tool has not been updated in over a year and uses an older version of dependency handling during tool installation.

Contacting the tool author about the problems is the best way to find out if a tool update is planned and/or if they can help to get this version installed correctly.

How-to:

  • Log into the Main Tool Shed (https://usegalaxy.org/toolshed, creating an account if you don't have one already), search for the tool, and use: Repository Actions > Contact tool author
  • An alternative option (and likely quicker/more direct) is to go to the linked development repository, review open issues to see if this is a known, and if not, open a ticket reporting the installation problem.
