Hello again Galaxy Team,

I'm trying to upload two fq.gz files, each around 4GB in size. When trying to upload the files directly, I get the error message: Failed: File exceeds 2GB. Please use a FTP client.

This is strange because I remember uploading an 8GB file using this method around two weeks ago without any problems, but maybe the settings changed, so fair enough.

I am currently attempting to upload the files to the main Galaxy FTP server at usegalaxy.org using Filezilla and emulating the settings found on the instruction page. Unfortunately, I keep getting the following messages:

Antwort: 220 ProFTPD 1.3.5e Server usegalaxy.org FTP (Explicit SSL/TLS on port 21)) [::ffff:129.114.60.60]

Befehl: AUTH TLS

Antwort: 502 Command not implemented.

Befehl: AUTH SSL

Antwort: 502 Command not implemented.

Status: Unsicherer Server; er unterstützt kein FTP über TLS. (translation: unsafe server, it doesn't support FTP over TLS)

Befehl: USER ******.de

Antwort: 550 SSL/TLS required on the control channel

Fehler: Herstellen der Verbindung zum Server fehlgeschlagen (could not connect to server)

Am I the problem or is something wrong with the server?

Have you tried to use an alternative FTP Client? I'm currently using Cyberduck and my upload is in progress as I type.

Hello Utkarsh,

Thanks for the response. I've tried using WinSCP and SpeedCommander as well, but they also returned error messages. I'm not sure if the client is the issue. Our Firewall doesn't seem to be causing any problems either. What encryption settings do you have?

My Settings are follows:

Connect using FTP-SSL (Explicit AUTH TLS)

Server: usegalaxy.org Port (default) 21 URL: ftps://username@xxxx.com@usegalaxy.org (eg. ftps://john.oliver@gmail.com@usegalaxy.org)

SSH Private Key: None Client Certificate: None
