I've seen a couple questions about this, but none of the answers addressed my particular question. I've tried uploading a Kraken database to my local instance of Galaxy, but am unable to select it in the "Select Kraken Database Option". I tried converting the datatypes for the database, but am still unable to get it working. As of now, is it possible to upload your own Kraken database?

Are you using the Data Manager for this tool? It is in the Tool Shed.
I've installed the Data Manager, but I am still not able to select a Kraken database.
Is the fastq dataset available in the active history (before you initiated the use of the DM)?
I tend to place input datasets into the DM history itself to keep the source data for indexes organized, but this is not necessary, any history can be used. Naming the history so that is is clear it was used as "data source" history would be a good idea in this case, to help keep a record of inputs. The DM dataset (for the indexing job) will always end up in the DM history by default.
Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team
