Hi everyone,

I am trying to run Blast on galaxy local instance. I downloaded the NR and NT databases, and I specified the path in the blastdb.loc and blastdb_p.loc files as suggested in comments :

nr_15Jan2015    NCBI NR (non redundant) 15 Jan 2015    /data/GalaxyData/BlastDB/Fasta_NR_15012015/nr

Unfortunately I have this error for both nr and nt :

BLAST Database error: No alias or index file found for protein database [/data/GalaxyData/BlastDB/Fasta_NR_15012015/nr]

But in both nt and nr folder I have an alias file (nr.pal and nt.nal). What do I miss here please ?

Thank you for your help.

Well thanks to pvh_sa we found what was wrong. I modified the line to that :

nr    NCBI NR (non redundant) 15 Jan 2015    /data/GalaxyData/BlastDB/Fasta_NR_15012015/nr

And it works. My guess is that the first field has to match with the name of the db in the end of the last fied...

Thanks for letting us know that this is resolved. The loc file changes you made (and the assumption about why that worked) is correct.
