Question: configure BLAST database to be used by all users on galaxy

Hello,

What is the best way to set up a blast database (say something like nr or swissprot) that all users are able to access?

It seems rather cumbersome that each user would have to import something like nr into their history each time they want to use it.

I already have the BLAST+ package.

you can give the path to a local NR database in a location file. The Galaxy Blast wrappers will look into such files and will offer this option to the users. Please have a look at the documentation: https://github.com/peterjc/galaxy_blast#installation
