Question: Deleted files still available

Hi,

I have observed that even if files are deleted and purged from a history they still show up as an option to copy over in the copy dataset option. Moreover, if I delete a file in my history and use a tool that allows me to use multiple inputs selected based on the format they still show up in the list. This is an issue, since they are empty files and should not be used. Is there a way to get them out of the history completely so that they are not available for the tools?

When a dataset is permanently deleted it is not available for the dataset copy function nor as input to tools. Perhaps double check that the datasets are not just in a deleted (and recoverable) state but actually purged?

If you are using Galaxy at public site other than http://usegalaxy.org, there could be other rules in place. The administrators of that instance can be contacted.
