Question: forgotten password/email on galaxy and filezilla

How do I retrieve a forgotten password on Filezilla. I've clicked the forgot password link, but everytime I submit a password it doesn't recognize it, and I can't seem to change my password, which I would like too, on galaxy either. Thank you

You user name (email) and password for Filezilla to FTP data to any Galaxy server is the same as the registered account on that same Galaxy server. 

It is not clear from your question where you are having trouble resetting the password, although I suspect it in on the "User -> Login" form in the Galaxy UI. Is this where you are having issues? Doing this in Filezilla - if even possible (?) - will not impact your Galaxy account and any connections attempted using a different email/password would fail.

There are no known issues with the password reset operation on public Main Galaxy instance at http://usegalaxy.org. That said, changes may take a bit of time to propagate the update, but it should be fairly quick (with an hour, although almost certainly sooner). Then you can use that new password with Filezilla to FTP data.

If working on Main, and should this not help or you continue to experience problems, please let us know. If working on a different Galaxy server, contacting the administrator of that instance would be the next step for a solution.
