I successfully installed and ran galaxy locally with admin privileges. But when I looked at the history tab, it is empty. I already had account in the galaxy where my all analysis is hosted, there appears proper history. I am confused, my email and password are same when I registered for admin privillages But history appears only when I login as a regular non admin user. Is the normal regular account different from the account with admin privileges, if not where is the problem.

Need suggestions to fix it.

Hello,

On any particular Galaxy server, registered emails are used to distinguish between accounts (and the data they contain).

Each Galaxy server is distinct. So if you are logging into two different Galaxy servers, you'll have two distinct accounts.

Data can be shared between Galaxy servers, this is how: FAQs https://galaxyproject.org/support >> Data Options https://galaxyproject.org/support/#data-options

Also, registered account emails are case-sensitive. Maybe you have two accounts on the same server (your local)? If so, I'm not sure how you would log into the same account (same exact registered email address) and have it sometimes be promoted to admin and other times set at default non-admin.

Should there be two accounts created on your local Galaxy server by mistake, you can also share/import/copy between the two and organize your data the way you want it (into the admin account). And when logged in as an admin, you can then later delete the non-admin account if you no longer want to use it.

Please review the above and let us know if you need more help.

Thanks! Jen, Galaxy team
