Hello,
I've been trying to map reads to Galaxy for the last day with no success. I'm repeating the exact same steps that have proven useful and productive in the very recent past, however, now I'm unable to do a single analyses. I have an assignment that is due tomorrow, and I'd like to be able to complete it before the deadline. I've already reported that delay, but there still seems to be no progress being made. My last job has been going now for 15 hours and it still hasn't made it into the que for analysis. It has been the case now for over 24 hours. When I'd did this on Thursday, there were delays, but none that were more than 20 minutes long in any case.
Are the jobs queued (grey) but not executing as opposed to failing? If so, this is an issue the team is working on right now. We expect to resolve this near-term, but the backlog of jobs may mean it will take a day or two for the queues to return to normal execution times.
Right now the advice is to queue up jobs and allow them to complete. However, these delays will impact your deadline. Because of this, you could consider using another public server or even a local/cloud Galaxy. Or perhaps your instructor will grant a time extension for the project - everyone using Galaxy Main could run into the same issues. As a general policy we do not recommend that instructors use Galaxy Main for teaching purposes with many students - a cloud Galaxy provided for class use is a better choice. https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/BigPicture/Choices
