Hi all

I have a BAM file uploaded I want it to be visualize over at UCSC Genome Browser through the option "display at UCSC main" at Galaxy (as shown here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/arh9kc5qqhcy5t8/linking_to_UCSC.png?dl=0 )

This could be a general permissions error. Make sure that data is served publically. I am assuming that your tool-data/shared/ucsc/ucsc_build_sites.txt file is current and set up.

I should add that if you are working from certain sites, there could be a firewall impacting data transfer. Your local admin will be able to help to determine if this is a factor.

Just to quickly follow up. You are accessing your Galaxy instance via the IP 0.0.0.0, you should access Galaxy via a public IP if you want to view datasets at external services.

The info mentioned above for setting up a Proxy is also of note, as you'll want to use a proxy that supports byte-range requests for most external services that work with BAM files.

Does this counted as set up?

Furthermore, i am now accessing it through my inet address and the error somehow still shows the same.

TCP non-blocking connect() to 192.168.0.101 timed-out in select() after 10000 milliseconds - Cancelling!

I am using my own local workstation so firewall shouldnt be a problem.....

I have been spending days on this problem and I can't figure out what's the issue....

HI Jennifer

I have been trying to many times and had allowed all outgoing connections using the command below:

" iptables -I INPUT -j ACCEPT "

However, the error still persist. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/7pr0a256vbe3z0j/error_ucsc.PNG?dl=0)

This is really demoralising..
