Greetings,

I currently have a big issue with the galaxy website.

I can access to this link 'http://galaxyproject.org/', but unfortunately all the links within this page and all pages related to galaxy give me the following error message 'The connection was reset'. The issue obviously come from my side since I can access to all the pages from my smartphone or at home. I already tried to erase Mozilla Firefox cookies and so on, and I tried on several computer (Windows, Ubuntu, Biolinux) and I had the same issue.

The fact is that I am working in a french Hospital and we access to internet through a proxy that is shared by all agents. I am afraid that the hospital was banned from galaxyproject domain but I can not be sure about that. It's really hard to get information about that issue since I am at work and I am using my phone to look on the website.

Do you have any idea of what I can do to access again to galaxy? I would like to contact galaxyproject directly to check if we had been banned from their domain but I can't find any email adress for this purpose.

Many thanks for your help,

C. Habib

http://galaxyproject.org/ works fine for me from my Australian home internet right now.

If you can confirm that Galaxy works for you from any off campus internet provider, that helps localise the problem - perhaps a local campus web filter gone berserk ?

The website works fine for me too when I connect from my french home internet. It could be a local campus web filter since I noticed this issue few days after the terrorist attack that occured in France but I can't be sure about that. I tried to ask to the person in charge of the network at my work but as you may know it could take several weeks before I get an answer.

So in the end I have no clue about the origin of this issue. I would like to be sure that the hospital proxy is not banned because this proxy is used at a large scale in the Paris hospitals but it could be something else.

Thanks for your answer, I hope that you will find the reason of this issue :(

Hi,

From the discussion, this appears to be an issue to work out with your local admin (re: possible internet restrictions). I am going to close this one out.

Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team
