Hi,

I am working on the hemichordate Saccolgossus kowalevskii and I am in the process of conducting ChIP-seq experiments. The genome of S. kowalevskii is sequenced and available on metazome.net (http://www.metazome.net/skowalevskii.php).

So I was wondering if it is possible to import date under the "Get Data" tap from Metazome into Galaxy.

Thanks a lot,

best,

Jens Fritzenwanker

Hello,

Any public ftp/http dataset can be imported into Galaxy using the Upload tool (found at the top of the far left Tool panel). If is fine if the dataset is compressed (.gz or similar), but note that multiple file tar archives are not supported. These must be first downloaded from the source by you, uncompressed, and individual datasets loaded. If these are over 2G in size, use the FTP method: two steps, load using FTP, then load into your history using the Upload tool.

The Upload tool in this wiki is still the older version, but the FTP method is valid. Be sure to connect to the updated server name on the wiki: usegalaxy.org and use your Galaxy account's email address and password for login credentials.
