Hi, I've recently installed galaxy. I was trying to find how to upload multiple files without the need to compress them into a zip/gz file first. Is this possible? As the "Get Data" option allows only one file at a time. I searched the galaxy archive mailing list but didn't find anything conclusive. I am unable to use ftp client tools due to IT restrictions. Thanks Neil

Hello Neil, This is correct - loading by file web browsing is one file at a time. And FTP is the usual solution, but there are other options. Multiple files from external sources can be loaded using the URL option. These would be http or ftp URLs. Multiple files from a local source (same computer/server as the Galaxy install or from a file server mount that Galaxy has access to) can be loaded as a library and then copied to a history. Nate send you this link this morning to a different thread, but for those following this thread, here is the link again: http://wiki.g2.bx.psu.edu/Admin/Data%20Libraries/Uploading%20Library%2 0Files Hopefully you have resolved the problem or this helps, Jen Galaxy team -- Jennifer Jackson http://galaxyproject.org
