Hi,

I downloaded a Galaxy history to my local disk and it saves as a .dat file. The history contained several BAM files and I would like to access each file individually.

How can I extract files from a .dat archive? Thank you.

Normally the .dat files are whatever format your history item is (galaxy literally calls everything a .dat file, regardless of it's format). If you just have one of them, then either you only got one file or somehow you got the .zip extension swapped. Either way, use the file command on it if you have a mac or Linux or rename it to something.zip if it's much larger than any of the individual history items.
