I'm trying follow the steps of the example from the Galaxy Training on RNAseq. After loading the data and putting it into folders I started Tophat as instructed. The error message that I got for accepted hits was "An error occurred setting the metadata for this dataset Set it manually or retry auto-detection"

Any ideas?

Thanks

Theo

Hello,

Unfortunately, Tophat can produce output like this. Click on the option to reset the metadata and then start-up downstream job after that is complete. If any downstream jobs have already failed with the data before correction, those should be rerun.

A better RNA-seq mapping tool is **HISAT. This tool will soon completely replace Tophat at http://usegalaxy.org. You might want to make the switch now or just know of the option once you start doing your own analysis (after the tutorial).

The most current tutorials for Galaxy can be found here: https://galaxyproject.org/learn/

Thanks! Jen, Galaxy team
