Hello, I have two Galaxy accounts - one for the class I teach and one personal one. I executed a bowtie job on this account ~30 minutes ago, which has not started running yet. I executed the same job on my other account just now (~30 minutes after I executed the one on this account), and it started running almost immediately. This is confusing, because I thought that jobs are run in the order they are received. Is this normal? Thanks.

Which Galaxy server are you using? If public, reply with the URL. Thanks! Jen, Galaxy team

Hi, I am using the public server. I'm sorry, I'm unsure which URL you mean? I assume there is one associated with the job, but I'm unsure how to identify it. Thanks,

I also ran extract reads to get a fastq file from an SRR ID. Ran the same job twice (started the 2nd job 5-10 minutes after the first) and the 2nd job has completed running whereas the first has not even started yet. Is there something wrong with the server?

Hi, I'm having trouble running any sort of analysis on Galaxy. I am also using the public server.

Still the problem persist, regardless of the rerun.

Waiting for the update

Thanks,

This is happening at Galaxy Main (http://usegalaxy.org)? Please correct me if wrong, there are many public Galaxy servers.

For the differences: Jobs are sorted by handlers and sent to different queues/clusters. Some of these clusters may be busier than others. Which are busy will change throughout the day. If some other problem is going on we will post again.

Each user should have only one account at Galaxy Main. If you are teaching, using this server is not recommended - instead please see the help here: https://new.galaxyproject.org/teach/best-practices/.

Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team

Yes, for me it is the same, Galaxy Main (http://usegalaxy.org)

The Galaxy Main server is slow right now. The exact cause has not been determined yet. Our team will post more feedback when that is known and/or corrected.

Sorry for the current inconvenience, Jen

Thank you. Much appreciated.

Thank you for the update

Update: Problems may manifest as slow server response time (impacting several functions, including download), extended job wait times (these will eventually run), and job failures.

If a job fails - try to rerun.

Another update will be posted, when corrected, to this thread.

Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team

Update 3-13-17 am:

The server issues at http://usegalaxy.org are resolved.

Queued jobs should be allowed to execute. Please rerun any previously failed jobs or operations.

Thanks! Galaxy team
