I have been trying to set up galaxy cloudman on AWS for 2 days (apr 12-13, 2016), no problem with AWS instance. But I can't launch Galaxy Cloud at the very end.

Does anyone have a current set up protocol that I can check if I did it correct?

I fellowed James Taylor's video lecture to set it up, however, it was made at least 1-2 years ago (though they still run it in the course).

If it is not the problem with AWS, it must be galaxy Cloud's problem? How do I contact support from Galaxy cloud team if anyone know?

Thanks

Helen

Hi Helen,

Have you seen the 'Getting Started' page on Galaxy's wiki that covers the process of launching your Galaxy instance: https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/CloudMan/GettingStarted

If that does not work for you, please post some more details here about what you mean by "I can't launch Galaxy Cloud at the very end" and we'll work it out.

Thanks Enis, I figured it out. It might have something to do with cloudman_key_pair.pem.

If I may ask, is adding nodes the same as threads?

No. Nodes are complete virtual machines, possibly with several processors each. A thread can be thought of as a running instance of an application (or part thereof). So threads execute on a processor, and in turn a node.

You would add nodes if you have many jobs running at the same time, or many users using the same Galaxy instance.
