Question: Consequences of changing variable in galaxy.ini

Hi guys,

I would like to know what could be the consequences of changing those 3 variables in galaxy.ini :

  • file_path
  • new_file_path
  • galaxy_data_manager_data_path

I mean, I have already some data thanks to data managers, I would like to be sure that my tools will still work with my references (hg19, hg38).

Thanks to Dannon guidance, we identified 2 differents way to handle changment of path :

- you can change the path in the galaxy.ini, and moove all the files contained in the previous path in this new path.

- you can moove the whole directory to another path, and make a symbolic link in the galaxy directory. Without changing the galaxy.ini it works fine!

I hope someone else will need this!
