Question: running local Galaxy using Linux inside windows OS

Is it possible to run Linux inside windows OS as a VM to setup and run local Galaxy as admin?

If I download the windows version of GIT to my PC with windows 7, and  try to run Linux inside windows using "Linux Mint" or a similar software, is it possible to run Galaxy as the administrator?

Alternatively you can run similiar solution based on docker with https://github.com/boot2docker/windows-installer/releases and Galaxy docker image from Bjoern: https://github.com/bgruening/docker-galaxy-stable
