Hello,

we want to try and bring some RNA related databases as a data source to our Galaxy instance. To add a data_source Galaxy-side seems to be easy enough, but does anybody have a manual, a checklist or something what has to be done on the database side?

Best,

Torsten H.

Hi Jen,

thank you for the reply but that was not exactly what I meant.

I have since worked a bit more on this issue and was successful in implementing a small example server. On the following gist page I have put the files that were necessary to achieve this

  • a CherryPy server which can communicate with a Galaxy instance both synchronously and asynchronously
  • the corresponding xml files which have to be put as usual in "path-to-galaxy-root/tools/data_source" folder
  • a detailed description (slightly more detailed than what I was able to find)
