After some time I have quite many persisting cron.houly jobs taking substantial cpu usage, I do not remember them appearing before.... (I have clean ubuntu 14 with Galaxy-docker-stable 16.10), is that normal?

PS, resrarting the container cleans them, but after time they start appearing...

What's in your hourly cron jobs? Last I checked the container itself doesn't run any cron jobs.

The strange thing is that I do not have any hourly cron jobs, it is clean ubuntu and I did not enter any cron jobs?!

Regardless, have a look at that file and see what it's doing.

I just checked 16.10 and 17.01 and both do not have anything defined in /etc/cron.hourly and /usr/local/sbin/. Are you running a modified version?

No, I’m running the original bgruening/docker-galaxy-stable from this December (on a clean ubuntu and just installing tools from the toolshed). Moreover, I have no expertise to modify it :) The question is how can I fix it, or stop these crons if they are not doing anything important rather than taking cpu power :)

Once again, look at the actual file. You can always edit your crontab (crontab -e as root, since that's what it's running as).
