Question: File compression before download?

Hello!
I am trying to download a couple of huge files (~45Gb each) to my local machine after manipulating them on the usegalaxy platform. I will use wget for the download, but I was wondering if there is any way to compress the files in galaxy prior to downloading to make things more efficient.
