Most of the tools are nowadays installed from the Tool Shed. It contains about 3500 tools. If you want to browse the list see https://toolshed.g2.bx.psu.edu/ and find repository you are interested at (repository also has description) - click on Valid tools and click on the name of the tool, you will see description/help provided by the tool author.
