Are you saying you'd like to use a browser like Lynx?  Or that you want to ssh to the server for some reason?  (I'm curious why).

I would like to SSH to the server. It is only for instructional purposes; I have students who will analyze a large sequence read dataset (for sequence alignment), and I would like to also train them in UNIX command line usage and scripting. I know that many functionalities are available through the portal (like alignment and replicate removal), but I was curious if there was a way to SSH to the server as well.

Ok, I see.  This is definitely not possible.

A cloud instance would probably suit your needs for teaching (and we use them often for things like this):  usegalaxy.org/cloud
